Matt and Pete, May 2002Human beings come in all shapes and sizes. Although all humans claim their own true uniqueness, there remains very little in the genetic pool that sets us apart. What I have seen and what I have experienced is truly what makes me one of a kind. Pete LaCock is one of a kind man. I can't describe deeply enough a man of generosity without mentioning Pete. We would all like the claim our ourselves altruists but if we did we would have to put ourselves on the same echelon as a man whose cells help to sustain life.
KDH Fundraiser in NYC  May 2002  NEW!
The KDH Hodgkin's Disease Foundation will hold their first annual Fundraiser on July 22, 2002 in New York City. The gala event will beheld at Eden, located at 28 West 20th St from 6 to 10 in the evening. Scheduled for the event will be live entertainment, DJ and dancing, elaborate Hors D'Ouerves and open bar, plus raffles for door prizes and gift bags! Not to mention, a few surprise celebrity appearances! Tickets cost $150 in advance and $200 at the door. Tickets available online at Ticketweb or by phone at 1-866-468-7619. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit clinical trial research at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Hodgkin's Survivor to be Computer Enhanced  Mar. 2002
Jeffrey Jacobs and his family will have microchips implanted in their arms containing a tiny radio transmitter to serve as a medical identification device when scanned. VeriChip may make the Jacobs family the first in a new generation of computer-enhanced human beings. Jeffrey is a Hodgkin's disease survivor.
The New Lymphoma Research Foundation  Mar. 2002
Announced last November, the Cure For Lymphoma Foundation (CFL) and the Lymphoma Research Foundation of America (LRFA) have merged to become the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) with the mission to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by this disease.  Combined, the two organizations have funded more than $7 million in lymphoma research providing basic and transitional grants to leading research institutes nationwide.  The organizations share over 17 years of experience, and pledge to continue under their original mission.
