Patient
to Survivor Links
Cure
For Lymphoma Foundation Patient-to-Patient Network
The
Patient-to-Patient Network helps provide a link between a newly diagnosed
patients and a lymphoma survivor via the telephone, letter writing, or
email. By just following the brief application procedure, patients and family
members are matched with survivors and experienced family members who can share
unique insights into living with lymphoma. You can join this program as a newly
diagnosed patient or a survivor.
Family members of newly
diagnosed patients and survivors are also invited to join the Network.
Leukemia
Lymphoma Society First Connection Program
The First Connection program provides a phone call or visit to a newly diagnosed
patient by a patient in remission. This unique match gives the patient something
that no one else can: a firsthand look at having "been there."
Patients will be matched with a peer for age, diagnosis and gender when
possible. Peers will be trained in basic counseling skills and armed with local
resource materials so that patients need not feel isolated as they begin the
process of treatment. Anyone with leukemia or related cancers is eligible to
receive a call or visit. There is no charge for this program. Volunteers are
also needed to keep this program going. The Leukemia Lymphoma society asks
that for more information you contact your local
chapter or visit their web
site bulletin board.
